For the service to take effect, customer-level administrators must then set up AI Recipient Validation.
The setup works automatically for Microsoft 365 organizations with certain licenses (see Supported Licenses). For Microsoft 365 organizations with other licenses, the AI Recipient Validation service is not available.
During the setup below, several steps are performed automatically in the customer's Microsoft 365
organization. After that, the service becomes effective.
- Log in to the Control Panel with your administrative credentials.
- From the scope selection, select the customer for whom you would like to set up the AI
Recipient Validation service.
- Navigate to AI Recipient Validation
An onboarding wizard is displayed in the AI Recipient Validation module.
- Click on Step 1.
The Microsoft 365 login page is then displayed.
- Log in to Microsoft 365 with your administrative credentials.
A page with requested permissions is then displayed.
- Accept the requested permissions.
Note: With these permissions, the AI Recipient Validation service can revoke permissions
from its own applications in the future. These permissions are required in case the
customer does not want to use the service anymore in the future.
The AI Recipient Validation module is displayed again. The permissions are granted. The Step 1 tile turns green. The Step 2 tile is enabled.
- Click on Step 2, the Microsoft 365 login page is then displayed.
- Log in to Microsoft 365 with your administrative credentials.
A page with requested permissions is displayed.
- Tick the Consent on behalf of your organization checkbox.
- Accept the requested permissions.
Note: The AI Recipient Validation service is temporarily authorized to create applications
in the customer's Microsoft 365 organization. With these permissions, the service
creates the first application in the Microsoft 365 organization.
- It may take a moment for step 2 to complete, but once done the AI Recipient Validation module is displayed again. The permissions are granted. The Step 2 tile turns green. The Step 3 tile is enabled.
- Click on Step 3, the Microsoft 365 login page is displayed.
- Log in to Microsoft 365 with your administrative credentials.
A page with requested permissions is displayed.
Note: With these permissions, the AI Recipient Validation service can retrieve the users
and groups of the Microsoft 365 organization, access email information needed to
build and maintain a relationship database, and install the AI Recipient Validation
Outlook add-in in the Microsoft 365 organization.
- Accept the requested permissions.
Once the permissions are granted, the AIRV service retrieves information from the Microsoft 365 organization and creates a relationship database based on this information, which is used by the AI Recipient Validation add-in to issue warnings to users in the future. The AI Recipient Validation add-in is installed in the Outlook applications of the users of the Microsoft 365 organization.
The AI Recipient Validation module now displays statistics instead of the onboarding wizard.
Once enough data has been collected by the AI Recipient Validation add-in, the statistics will display data on warnings that have been issued to users of the Microsoft 365 organization.
The AI Recipient Validation service has now been set up for a customer.
