If only the domain is displayed as the user on a blocked website, first check which configurations for authentication are set in the control panel.
If the IP address access option is selected, the entered IP address can only ever be assigned to the customer domain. User assignment is only possible via "User-based access" or by means of LDAP authentication.
If the "User-based access" option is selected and the Hornetsecurity Webfilter Connector is used for automatic authentication, an sAM account name must be created for each user in the control panel. Only in this way can a user assignment be made.
The sAM Account Name is the Windows username. The field can be filled manually or automatically via LDAP user / group synchronization.
If you still see only the domain on a blocked page, contact your Webfilter Service representative with the following information:
- Customer Domain
- The website in question
- Date and Time
- Authentication method
- Username or email address
- IP Address
- sAM Account Name
- Which Webfilter IP address was used (You will have to use a IP Checker for this)
