The following configuration changes are necessary to successfully set up and use DMARC Manager.
To utilize DMARC Manager effectively, the domain must be registered in the Control Panel. Additionally, the domain must have the capability to update its existing DNS records.
For example:
If you wish to configure SPF values for Domain A, retrieve the value displayed in the SPF module and apply it to the DNS configuration.
Obtain the value from the SPF module and configure it in your DNS server as a TXT record.
Once the configuration is complete and the changes have propagated (note the TTL), click "Verify" to confirm the setup.
A banner will appear at the top center of the screen, confirming the action.
Repeat the process for DMARC configuration.
DMARC Manager offers two options for implementing DKIM:
1. Hosting the private key with HornetDMARC.
2. The standard method using a CNAME record.
The first option has certain limitations; it requires the ability to add additional name servers to your DNS configuration. However, not all DNS providers support this feature. In such cases, the fallback option is always to use a TXT record with a CNAME. More information about the fallback can be found here: How to set up DKIM?
Important: Do not replace your primary name server with the name servers listed in the "DKIM" module.
Warning: Replacing your existing DNS server with the entry provided in the "DKIM" module will disrupt your DNS configuration. This will result in your records becoming inaccessible to the public.
The logic behind the product is straightforward:
1. Create a TXT record that redirects any server requesting your DNS information to the Control Panel (CP).
2. When activating the SPF module within the DMARC Manager, ensure that **all existing SPF records** are correctly configured in your Control Panel.
To simplify this process, you can easily retrieve your current SPF records:
- Click "Import" to automatically bring all existing SPF records into the module. This step is crucial to enable the redirect SPF value from Step 1 to function properly.
Important Note:
When creating SPF records in the module, be aware that the default quantifier is set to "+" (Pass). This configuration indicates that the sender is always permitted.
