Note: The following is to be done on-premise (where the main VM Backup installation resides).

1. Ensure that you have VM Backup 8.4.0.3 or newer installed.
    
2. Ensure that you have an active internet connection from the machine which you would like to link (other Hyper-V Hosts linked to the Installation do not require an internet connection).
    
3. Ensure that communication to the following is not blocked:
   
   EMEA customers
   https://eu-agent.manage.altaro.com
   https://eu-signaler-tcp.manage.altaro.com
   
   Non-EMEA customers 
   https://agent.manage.altaro.com
   https://signaler-tcp.manage.altaro.com
   
   
4. Launch the VM Backup Management Console.
    
5. Click on the new [CP] icon at the top right of the window.
   
   
   
   
   
6. A Wizard will be displayed to allow you to link this installation. Click [Next] to proceed.
    
7. In this step use the VM Backup CP temporary Access Key to link the installation and register it.
   
   
   
   
   
8. Click [Next] and confirm registration by clicking [Register]
