Similar to the Backup Locations, VM Backup allows you to configure one or more Offsite Locations, which will allow you to keep a redundant copy of your backups for disaster recovery purposes.
To start your configuration, simply go to [Setup] > [Backup Locations]
You can configure locations such as a Physical Drive as well as a Network Path (LAN only), which only entail selecting your preferred location and entering credentials.
Other locations require some more configuration, which are documented in a step-by-step guide here:
-
Cloud Backup to Azure Storage Account
-
Cloud Backup to Amazon S3
-
Cloud Backup to Wasabi Cloud Storage Account
-
Offsite Backup Server (WAN Acceleration)
- Drive Rotation/Swap
You are not limited to one location per Virtual Machine, you can set up two different Multiple Offsite Copy Locations. An example of typical usage would be a user who enables copies of a single VM to an Offsite Backup Server and also to a cloud storage account. How can I set up multiple Offsite Copy Locations?
