Costs will also change depending on the Replication strategy you choose when creating your Azure storage account. You can find more details about the different Replication strategies available in MS Azure here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/storage/storage-redundancy

Amazon S3
With Amazon S3 storage it's important to note the following:
- [Versioning] must be disabled as this is not supported.
- [Default Encryption] must be disabled as it is not supported. VM Backup already encrypts (256-Bit AES) natively before upload.
- Enabling [Logging] will incur higher costs to the account, thus it is recommended to disable it
- [Block Public Access] should obviously be enabled since it contains your backup data which should not be publicly accessible

Wasabi
With Wasabi storage it's important to note the following:
- [Bucket Versioning] must be disabled and [Suspend Versioning] is selected as this is not supported.
- Enabling [Logging] will incur higher costs to the account, thus it is recommended to disable it
- [Public Access] should obviously be disabled since it contains your backup data which should not be publicly accessible

Azure
Note that GPv1 (General Purpose v1) is recommended as it will result in the lowest cost if you started taking backups with version 8.13 or older and have not started from a fresh backup set. This is due to: "workloads with high churn or high read rates may benefit from this account type." Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/storage-account-options
