When the Awareness Engine is enabled, E-Trainings are automatically and demand-oriented assigned. Therefore, it may happen that individual users temporarily receive fewer or no new E-Trainings.
How Does the Awareness Engine Decide on the Assignment of E-Trainings?
The Awareness Engine regularly evaluates users' security behavior. In particular, it analyzes click and reporting behavior on simulated phishing emails.
Based on this, the Awareness Engine decides which users or groups should continue to be trained.
The goal is to assign each user as much training as necessary and at the same time as little as possible.
Which Settings Influence the Training Intensity?
Under Security Awareness Service > Configuration, additional settings can be made that affect the training intensity.
With the Single User Booster, weaker users within a strong group can be specifically trained. This allows these users to receive more E-Trainings than other users in their group.
With the Productivity Booster, stronger users within a weaker group (ESI under 90) can receive fewer E-Trainings than the rest of their group. This helps avoid training users with already good security behavior unnecessarily often.
Additionally, the Maximum Number of Months Without E-Trainings setting can be used to specify how long users with good behavior will not be assigned new E-Trainings.
What Other Factors Should Be Considered?
Strong users with a low click rate in generally strong groups also receive few to no E-Trainings until their click rate increases. This behavior is intended in these cases and does not disadvantage users, as they already demonstrate good awareness and are at a good security level. This gives users more time for their daily tasks and ensures they are trained on a demand basis if their performance worsens.
Where Can I Track This?
You can track the development of booster trainings in the Control Panel under Security Awareness Service > Statistics > E-Training.
In the chart Development of Users in the Single User Booster and the Productivity Booster, you can see how many users are generally in training, how many users are in booster training, and how the number of users in booster training has changed over the selected period.
