Sign in or Sign up to your Wasabi account on https://console.wasabisys.com
- Click [Create Bucket]
- Fill in your preferred [Bucket Name] and [Region]. Then click [Next]
Important!
- [Object Locking] must be enabled if you wish to use Immutable (WORM) backups. This will automatically enable Versioning. This must be disabled for locations that are not immutable
- Enabling [Bucket Logging] will incur higher costs to the account, thus it is recommended to disable it
Then click [Next]
Lastly, click [Create Bucket]
- Next, you will need to create your Access Keys in order to be able to add your Wasabi account to VM Backup. Go to [Access Keys] from the menu.
Then click on [Create New Access Key]. This will immediately create an Access Key as well as a Secret Key, which you will need to connect from VM Backup.

To use your Wasabi Storage Account as an offsite copy location for your VMs, please proceed as follows:

If you wish to enable Immutable Backup for Wasabi, you can simply enable the option like so:
Click [Test Connection] and once the connection is successful then click [Finish]
- Your new Offsite Location will appear in your Backup Locations list as below. To change the Connection String you can click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Lastly, select the VMs you wish to assign to this rotation and Drag and Drop them from the VM list on the left into the newly created Wasabi location, then click [Save Changes] to complete.
-
Once done, either start an Offsite Copy manually from the [Offsite Copies] menu, or wait for your next Scheduled Offsite Copy job.
- Open the VM Backup management console and go to [Setup] > [Backup Locations]
