POP3/IMAP is now being completely replaced by Hornet.email. There are a few things to keep in mind for the Migration.
Environment switch
At the accounced date all POP3/IMAP mailboxes will be transferred to a Hornet.email environment.
What will it mean for end users:
- POP3/IMAP service will not be available anymore for users. POP3/IMAP/SMTP will reject connections
- There will be no downtime for incoming emails, as Hornet.email environment will start accepting incoming emails right after the change, and emails will be available for users after they change their client settings
- Clients will not be able to send emails until the settings are changed
To have full service working again, the settings for all the affected clients should be changed to:
- Webmail: hornet.email
- POP3: pop3.hornet.email
- IMAP: imap.hornet.email
- SMTP: smtp.hornet.email
Postboxes
Every POP3/IMAP mailbox migrated will be given 25GB in Hornet.Email storage. Please make sure to cleanup your mailboxes to be below this limit, if this is not done, you will not receive any new mails. New mails will be bounced with the message “Mailbox storage full”.
