Assigning a standalone setting must be done through the tenant scope. To access the tenant scope, you can either search the tenant name with the Scope search or browse to [365 Tenant Manager] > [Tenants] and click on the highlighted Scope item underneath the tenant's name.
To assign a standalone setting, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the [Settings] tab and click on [Assign standalone setting]
- Enter a setting name or keyword in the search bar and tick the radio button next to the setting name
Note: You can only select one setting at a time. If you want to assign more settings, you
must repeat all steps for each setting. - To change the assignment of the setting to specific users or groups, click on [Manage assignment]
- To assign the setting to specific users or groups, select the assignment mode [Assign policy to specific users and groups]
- To exclude all users from the setting assignment, toggle the [Select all users]
- To assign the setting to specific users or groups, select the assignment mode [Assign policy to specific users and groups]
- Once you have adjusted the assignment, click [Apply]
- In the top right corner of the screen, select the enforcement by toggling the [Enforcement] switch
Notify: The setting will be checked on the tenant and the compliance state will be shown in the 'Settings' module of the tenant
Enforce: The setting will be enforced on the tenant - Lastly, click [Assign] and the standalone setting will be assigned to the tenant
