In the header of an email sent via our gates/relays, there is both a message ID and an MSG ID. However, these two IDs are not the same.
The message ID is an ID created by the sending system, which is unique for sending an email. If the email has several recipients, the message ID is the same for all recipients as it is based on the sender.
In order to be able to carry out a truly unique assignment, we store a separate ID in the header of an email. The MSG-ID. This ID is unique for each recipient.
Our systems, such as the chatbot for reporting false negative/positive cases, therefore use the MSG ID to find the corresponding emails, as the emails of all recipients to whom a mailing was sent are not displayed here, but just for one recipient.
How you can display the MSG ID in Email Live Tracking is described here.
