In the following, you will find a short tutorial on how to create a user with which you can authenticate yourself to the Hornetsecurity services in order to send e-mails from different applications, locations or devices. A sender address is also required if the customer's server has a dynamic IP address.
- Creating a secondary environment with Hornet.email
- Creating a user under Customer settings > Mailboxes and assigning the environment that was created in the first step
- Optional: Then, after 30 minutes, log in with the user once in the webmailer to verify that it's fully operational
Now, the newly created user can be used for sending and as authentication to our server. To do this, please use the outbound mail server settings, which you can find here.
An independent sender address is not always necessary, should there be an email server with a fixed IP address and users you do not need to send emails from different locations, applications or devices.
