This article explains how to save an email or view an email's headers.
In some support cases, Hornetsecurity requires the original email from the mailbox or the email headers. This information helps trace the delivery and processing of an email.
Difference Between Headers and the Full Email
The header contains technical information about the email, for example:
- Sender and recipient
- Delivery path
- Mail servers involved
- Timestamps
- Technical checks and results
A complete email file also contains the message content and any attachments.
For analysis, a saved original email is often more helpful than a screenshot or a forwarded email.
Note
Saved emails may contain personal or confidential content.
Only send headers or saved email files to Hornetsecurity Support if this information is required for the analysis.
